Report: Chinese popular brand OnePlus is all set to launch its smart TV in India soon
Chinese technology giant has already confirmed that it is working on a smart TV. The OnePlus TV, as many are calling it is a highly expected product seeing that it will be launching from a brand that is well known for making reasonable flagship smart phones. It is quite common that the One Plus is yet to reveal an official launch date, while tipster Ishan Agarwal tweeted that the smart TV from OnePlus is not very far away.
He further posted that according to unnamed source OnePlus TV might launch very soon, while the tweet has not provided any specific data, but it seems to suggest that One Plus could be set to launch their TV in 2019.
Late last year, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau told reporters that the company was planning to launch the smart TV in mid-2019. Lau later told that the company needs some more time to work on the smart TV and that the release could be also extended to 2020.
Meanwhile, OnePlus TV will not come with an OLED display, since the company is unlikely to take on premium players like Samsung, Sony and LG. Instead it is planning to offer an affordable TV to take on Xiaomi's MI TVs. Xiaomi released its first Mi TV in India back in February 2018 and has enhanced its line up in the country wherein it has sold 2 million Mi TV units in India.
OnePlus has already confirmed that India is one among the first few countries to get the OnePlus TV and it will be exclusively available on Amazon India whenever it launches, which makes sense since the e-commerce platform also markets OnePlus smart phones.
