TCS bagged 2.25 billion Nielsen contract, Accenture won Vatican deal
An Indian multinational information technology firm Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. has set a record by securing a 2.25 billion dollar outsourcing contract from Nielsen, a television measurement company, which is the largest ever win by an Indian information technology company.
By this deal TCS has marked the renewal of the company's relationship with Nielsen. Back in 2015, Nielsen had signed a 1.2 billion worth contract for 10 years which was later doubled to 2.5 billion and extended the contract till 2020.
The 2.25 billion dollar deal guarantees TCS of 320 million dollar in business from Nielsen annually from 2017 to 2020, 186 million dollars annually from 2021 to 2024 and 139.5 million dollar in 2025. The renewal of the contract is considered to improve the profile of Rajesh Gopinathan who became chief executive officer of TCS back in February 2017, post N Chandrashekaran was recruited as Chairman of Tata Sons Ltd- the holding company of the group.
Meanwhile, Nielsen stated that the contract period of the agreement has been extended for five more years, so that will end on December 31, 2025, with three one-year renewal options granted to Nielsen. TCS will offer professional services related to information technology, business process outsourcing, client service knowledge process outsourcing, management sciences, and financial planning globally to Nielsen.

The Vatican has recently recruited consulting company Accenture to solve and unify its digital communications and its communication department has asked global consulting company Accenture to set up a channel called 'Vatican News in order to simplify and unify its digital communications. The Vatican wishes the channel will aid them to communicate with the faithful in a more eminent manner. They also wish Accenture will assist them to build a clear digital communications strategy for the Church- all under one single portal.
